The Mount Vernon Fire Department provides fire prevention and suppression, rescue, and education services to the city of Mount Vernon, Pleasant Township, Clinton Township, Liberty Township, College Township and the southern half of Morris Township. We are also contracted for service to the Mount Vernon Developmental Center and the Knox County Regional Airport.

Our fire department is composed of three shifts working a 24-hour on-duty and 48-hour off-duty rotation.
